Several Charges 23-year old Michael Muto of 104 Cottage Lane will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon by officers from the Investigation Services Section of the City Police.

23-year old Michael Muto of 104 Cottage Lane will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon by officers from the Investigation Services Section of the City Police. On the 24th of October 2 female victims reported an incident that had occurred between themselves and Mr. Muto. It is alleged that Mr. Muto took the victims for a late night car ride to a remote rural area where he forced them to comply with his demands by leading them to believe he had a weapon. The incidents occurred between midnight and 5 am. After the incident the accused returned them to the City. Mr. Muto was on probation at the time of the offences with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Muto has been charged with 2 counts of sexual assault, 2 counts of forcible confinement, 2 counts of intimidation and one count of breach of probation.


Threats Lead to Charges

A 47-year old male will also be appearing in bail court after being arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that the accused threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend. At the time of the offence the accused was on a probation order with terms not to keep the peace and be good as well as being on a release order with terms no to molest, harass or annoy the victim. The male has been charged with one count of breach of probation, one count of threatening death or bodily harm and one count of breach of a recognizance-peace bond.


Disqualified Driver Charged

Last night around 11 pm City Police stopped a pickup truck with BC plates on it in the downtown area. A check of the driver revealed that he was a disqualified driver. Ricky Gregory, age 32, of 102 Island Road, Goulais River has been charged with one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified-court order. He will appear in court on November 29th.

Attempted Break & Enter

Yesterday afternoon shortly after 5 pm a homeowner in the 100 block of St. Georges Avenue West scared off 2 intruders from inside their home. The 2 male suspects fled from the scene with the homeowner giving chase. The police were then called. A small undisclosed amount of American money was taken. One male is described as being in his late teens, early 20’s, with short dark hair, wearing glasses and a dark blue windbreaker as well as dark pants. The other suspect is in his mid 20’s, 5’11” tall, skinny build, tight jeans, balding with his dark hair tied in a ponytail that fell to his shoulder.
