TRUCK HITS BICYCLE At approx. 7:54am yesterday, the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to a motor vehicle collision between a GMC pick-up and a bicycle on St.George's Ave. The truck struck the cyclist, who required medical attention.

At approx. 7:54am yesterday, the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to a motor vehicle collision between a GMC pick-up and a bicycle on St.George's Ave. The truck struck the cyclist, who required medical attention. 56-year-old Kerry SYMBOLUK, of Ransome Dr. was taken to the General Hospital and admitted. The truck driver, 20-year-old Kevin GAGNON, of 211 Spruce St., was charged with "Failing to turn out to left to avoid a collision with a bicycle".


DRUG BUST
In other news from overnight, the Joint Forces Drug Unit executed a drug warrant on a residence in the 200 block of Lake St. yesterday. Upon entering the residence the officers located approx. 45 grams of marihuana. The resident, Corey EBARE, age 22, was arrested and charged with: 1. Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. 2. Possession of a controlled substance 3. Proceeds of crime. Ebare was released and will be attending court on October 21, 2002 at 9:30 AM.
