The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a break in to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club at 246 Wellington Street West that occurred sometime overnight on March 30th. Entry was gained through a window.

Yesterday morning the police service was advised of a break in to a home on Stevens Street where the door was forced open and a guitar was stolen. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact City Police at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.


YOUTH ARRESTED FOR BREACH OF PROBATION
At 10:24 pm yesterday, patrol officers were called to a home on St. Andrews Terrace where a parent had advised police that their 15-year-old son was on a probation order not to drink and the youth had been drinking.

Officers went to the residence and arrested and charged the youth with Breach of Probation under the Young Offenders Act. He will appear in court in early May.


BIZARRE THREATS
On the February 16, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Jeffrey Iahtail, age 26 of 145 McNabb Street, allegedly entered a downtown funeral home. He asked one of the employees if there was a minister inside. The employee told him that he had to go to a church in the area.

Iahtail got upset and started swearing to other employees who went to the area to assist. Iahtail threatened the three employees, saying he was going to kill their mother. Patrol officers were unable to locate the accused at the time and an arrest warrant was issued for Threatening Death.

Yesterday at approximately 3:50 pm, city police officers attended at the district jail and executed the arrest warrant for Jeffrey Iahtail. He will appear in bail court today.


EPIDEMIC OF DRUNKS
Patrol officers were kept busy with intoxicated persons yesterday. Officers arrested four individuals for being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act.

The arrests occurred at 1:24 pm involving a 58-year-old male. At 6:15 pm, a similar incident involving a 62-year-old male, and at 11:00 pm, another involving a 44-year-old female and at 3:40 am today a 30-year-old female was arrested.

All these individuals were taken into police custody until they sobered up and no longer provided a safety risk to themselves or others.


DOMESTIC DISPUTE
This morning, shortly after 4:00 am, Patrol Officers were called to a Hill Street address for a domestic dispute, where a 21-year-old male had broken into his 20-year-old ex-girlfriends residence and assaulted her with a kitchen knife. The accused threatened to kill her and a 24-year-old male that was also present at the residence.

The accused swung the knife at the victim, which caused a small cut to her arm. The police investigation revealed that the male had broken into the residence by forcing open the door.

Police officers arrested and charged the accused with Threatening, Assault with a Weapon and Break and Enter. The investigation into this domestic incident is continuing. The accused will appear in bail court today.
