Shoplifting Arrests
40 year-old Deborah Marino of 682 (rear) Albert Street West was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon around 12:09 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that yesterday just before noon, the accused attended at five stores in the mall and stole several items. She was apprehended by mall security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 4th of October.

29 year-old Johanna Leveille was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service yesterday afternoon at 3:10 pm at Zellers on Northern Road and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 after she allegedly attended at the store at around 2:39 pm and stole a pair of sunglasses. She is to attend in court on the 4th of October.

Male Youth Arrested for Obstructs Police and Breach of Probation
A 17 year-old male youth was arrested by offices with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 3:17 am this morning on Canal Drive and charged with two count of breach of probation and one count of obstruct peace officer. It is alleged that around 2:40 am this morning, officers on patrol checked four males in the area of the locks and at the time the accused falsely identified himself. Through further investigation officers were able to determine the identity of the accused and discovered that he was on a probation order with curfew conditions to be in his place of residence from 10 pm until 6 am and further, he was to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to attend in court on the 5th of October.

Residence Break and Enter
A residence in the 200 block of Tilley Road was entered sometime over the past weekend. A 37 inch Samsung television, an X-Box unit and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports
• The Fisheries and Oceans Property on Canal Drive reported a large amount of graffiti and several signs were damaged over the past weekend.
• Windows vehicles were smashed on Connaught and Labelle Avenue.

Theft Reports
• Vehicles were entered in the 600 block of Old Goulais Bay Road, Braemar Bay and Palace Drive. A purse, a wallet and a canvass bag with Bingo items were reported stolen.
• Gas was reported stolen from vehicles on Root Rover Park.
• Vinyl flooring was reported stolen on London Street.

Motor Vehicle Pedestrian Collision
Yesterday evening at approximately 7:28 pm, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian on Albert Street East. A two year-old male child that stepped out onto the roadway on Albert Street East, just East of Elgin Street, was struck by a Chev Impala that had been travelling eastbound on Albert Street East. The child was transported to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance and later flown out to Ottawa for treatment of serious injuries. Traffic Services are currently investigating this collision and there are no further details to release at this time.
