Four Charged in Break In

At approx. 2:55 am Monday July 2nd the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was notified of a break in to the Brewers Retail Store located in the Churchill Plaza. The attending officers along with the police canine then began a search and subsequently were led to a residence in the 100 block of Breton Rd. where products stolen from the beer store were located. Four males located inside the residence were all arrested and charged.
Charged with possession of property obtained by crime are:

1. Charles Walton, age 29, of 110 Breton Rd. Apt. 5. He will be appearing in court July 30th.
2. Ryan Elliott, age 23 of 110 Breton Rd. Apt. #1 He will be appearing in court July 30th.
3. Trevor Diboll, age 30, of 220 Hugill St. Mr. Diboll is further charged with resisting arrest. At the time of his arrested the accused began kicking and punching at police. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.
4. A 17-year-old male is also charge with possession of property obtained by crime He will be appearing in
court July 31st.

Assault at Mac's

On Sunday July 1st at approx. 3:30 am the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to attend at the Mac’s Mart on Gore St. regarding an assault. Upon arrival officers were informed that the victim was punched and kicked in the face by the suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for several cuts and bruises to the head. The victim also had two front teeth knocked out. A short time later police located and arrested the suspect on Grosvenor St. Charged with one count of aggravated assault is 31-year-old Dale Marinich (Lacko), of 44 Curran Dr. He will be appearing in bail court today.

Assault Charges

On Sunday July 1st at 10:00 am city police officers located an intoxicated male on Gore St. Further investigation by the officers led to the arrest of the male for assault. It is alleged that at approx. 9:30 am the accused assaulted his common-law-spouse by twisting her arm. The victim did not require medical attention for her injuries. The accused, a 45-year-old male will be appearing in court on Aug 13th on one count of assault.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated three break and enters over the weekend.

Residences in the 100 block of Carufel Ave and the 300 block of Chambers Ave were entered. It is unknown at this time what was stolen.

The Beer Store, located at 150 Churchill Blvd was broken into and a quantity of beer was stolen.

City police received two reports of theft and two mischief in the past 24 hours.

A vehicle parked in the 700 block of Bay St. was entered and a quantity of fishing equipment and electronics was stolen. A residence in the 100 block of Pozzebon Cr .had several solar lights stolen. A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Market St. suffered damage to a door. A residence in the 100 block of Cambridge Pl had a window broken.
