Male Adult Arrested with Sexual Offences

A 48 year-old male was arrested on the 23rd of June at 12:35 pm at his residence and charged with one count of invitation to sexual touching, one count of sexual exploitation and one count of exposure to person under age of fourteen years. It is alleged that on the 23rd of June the accused while at his residence, indecently exposed himself to a young female relative under the age of fourteen, sexually exploited her and engaged in invitation to sexual touching. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

22 year-old Shaun Wilson of 289 Kingsford Road was arrested on the 23rdf of June at 2:45 pm on Albert Street East on outstanding warrants and charged with one count of robbery, one count of fail to attend court and one count of breach of probation.

Female Youth Arrested For Shoplifting

A fourteen year-old female youth was arrested on the 23rd of June at 4:35 pm at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 23rd of June the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole numerous cosmetics. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 29th of July.

Traffic Services Requesting Public’s Assistance with Investigation of a Motor Vehicle Collision

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service Traffic Unit are requesting assistance from the public with their investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred yesterday afternoon at 2 pm on Second Line East in front of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Building . One of the vehicles involved was a red Plymouth Van. This driver came into the station to report the accident while the other involved driver parked at the Tim Hortons parking lot. When police went to speak with the other driver to complete the accident report, they discovered that the driver had left. The vehicle was being operated by a male and was possibly an orange colour and had been pulling out of a business driveway on the north side of second Line near Great Northern Road, possibly Arrow Home Hardware, when the collision occurred.

Scouts Canada Advisory to Public

City Police would like to advise the public that they received information from the Executive Director of Scouts Canada for Northern Ontario that he received information that there is an individual that has been going door to door in our local area, wearing a Boy Scout or Cub type of uniform selling apples. The information provided is that the person, a male, is being driven around in a black SUV operated by a female driver.
Scouts Canada would like to advise the public that they do not have any sanction door to door fundraisers at this time. Their apple selling is in the fall.

Thefts Reported Yesterday and Overnight

A specialized 24 speed mountain bike bicycle was stolen from a Birch Street residence overnight.
A 26 inch Point Zero bike was stolen from a residence on First Avenue overnight.
A gold 16 speed (FLO DJ) Rocky Mountain Bike was stolen from a residence on Dacey Road yesterday.
A bicycle was stolen from a residence on Euclid Road sometime overnight on the 23rd of June.
A red 18 speed Supercycle was stolen AT White Pines High School yesterday morning.
A licence plate was stolen off of a vehicle on Trunk Road.
Suspect/s attempted to steal a dump truck from a business on Cathcart Street.
Vehicles were entered and gone through in the areas of Manitou Park and Amy Avenue overnight on the 22nd to the 23rd of June.

Break & Enter

One break and enter was reported to a garage last evening in the 800 block of Peoples Road. An alarm was activated at the garage at approximately 8:30 pm. A witness observed a male youth running from the garage. City police attended and searched the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The suspect was wearing a plaid shirt, jean shorts, and a white ball cap. It is not known at this time if anything was stolen.
