Arrested on Outstanding Warrants Yesterday afternoon officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service attended at the court house and arrested a male on outstanding warrants.

Yesterday afternoon officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service attended at the court house and arrested a male on outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on October 27th 2004, several persons broke into a residence in the 100 block of St. Georges Ave. DNA testing performed on evidence left at the scene matched up to the accused. Charged with one count of break and enter is Dale Boyer, age 33, of no fixed address. Mr. Boyer was further charged with one count of threatening and one count of criminal harassment. These two charges are from an incident in April 2006 where it is alleged that Mr. Boyer threatened a female known to him. He will be appearing in bail court today.

False Assault Charges, 19 year old Charged

At approx. 9:00m pm last evening officers from the Sault Ste Marie Police Service attended at a downtown address and arrested a 19-year-old female. It is alleged that the accused lied to police about an alleged assault. The accused had advised police that on June 21st she had been assault by her ex-common-law boyfriend. Her complaint of assault resulted in a 22-year-old male being arrested and sent to bail court. Investigation by city police revealed that the incident did not take place. The accused is charged with one count of public mischief. She will be appearing in bail court today.

Assault with a Paintball

At approx. 2:00 am this morning the Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to attend the downtown area in regards to an assault. Investigating officers were informed that a bartender at O’Aces Bar and Café was struck above the eye with a paintball. The paintball was fired from a vehicle driving past. Witnesses gave police the description and licence plate of the vehicle. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located and stopped on Second line W. As a result two adults and three young persons were all arrested and charged with one count of weapon dangerous to the public. It is alleged that the accused used slingshot to fire the paintballs at the victim. The victim did not require medical attention.
Charged are:
1. Lou Greco, age 18, of 218 Strand Ave.
2. Chris Cucullo, age 18, of 987 North St.
3-5. Three 17-year-old males.
The adults will be appearing in court on July 30th and the youths will be appearing in court on July 31st.

One Break & Enter

City police investigated one break and enter and one attempted break and enters yesterday. The Loyal Order of Moose, located at 543 Trunk Rd. Had a rear window broken in an attempted break-in. A construction trailer parked on Florwin Dr. was entered and a laptop computer was stolen.

Mischief Complaints

City police also received three complaints of mischief.
1) A pay loader located at World Cars, 967 Trunk Rd, had several of its windows broken.

2) A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Albert St.E. was damaged.

3) A backyard pool was damaged in the 500 block of Wilson St.

Theft

There was also one theft of a stereo from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Queen St.E.

Update on Missing Person

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has located the missing person, "Terry" William McKersie.

He was located in the downtown area of the city.
