One person to appear in bail court Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male for assault and threatening.
One person to appear in bail court
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male for assault and threatening. It is alleged that on Sept 13th 2010, the accused assault his ex-common-law girlfriend by punching her. It is further alleged that on March 3rd 2011, the accused threatened to kill the victim and to burn her house. The accused is charged with one count of assault and two counts of threatening.

Male arrested for impaired driving
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 54-year-old for impaired driving. It is alleged that the accused male was driving his motor vehicle on Wellington St. W. when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle at St. George’s Ave. It is further alleged that the accused continued eastbound on westbound Wellington St. W. and struck another vehicle at North St. and a light pole at Gore St. Police arrived and upon speaking to the accused determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Gerald Williamson, age 54, of 863 Second Line W. is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs. Mr. Williamson is to appear in court on April 18th at 9:00 am.

Motor vehicle collision with minor injuries
Yesterday morning at approximately 9:50 am members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a motor vehicle collision, with minor injuries, at the intersection of Albert St. E. and Brock St. It is alleged that a
vehicle southbound on Brock St. failed to stop for the red traffic light and struck an eastbound vehicle. The driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment. The driver of the southbound vehicle, Louis Franko, age 72 of 10 Beatrice St. was charged, with fail to stop for a red light, under the Highway Traffic Act.

Break and enter
A garage was entered in the 100 block of Ascot Ave. It is unknown if anything was taken.

A break-in was reported to Purvis Marie on Pim St. Unknown what was taken.

Mischief
Two vehicles were damaged in the 200 block of Alexandra St.

An electric billboard was damaged in the 700 block of Third Line E.

Theft
A vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Millcreek Dr. Personal items were stolen.

Electronic items were stolen from an address in the 600 block of Albert St. W.
