Five Arrested on Albert St. On the 17th of March 2008, at approximately 5:32 pm, members of the CORE-Street Team, Patrol and the Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 588 Albert Street West-Apt#405.

On the 17th of March 2008, at approximately 5:32 pm, members of the CORE-Street Team, Patrol and the Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 588 Albert Street West-Apt#405. It is alleged that during the course of the search, officers located a stolen 12gauge shotgun with ammunition, a total of 32.9grams of cocaine, various packaging materials, a digital scale, cash money totalling $400.00(seized as offence related property), a cellular telephone, a stolen computer, and a stolen television. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $3,290.00.

As a result the following five males were arrested at the residence at 5:32 pm and are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) 18 year-old Jordon Porter of #4-603 Second Line West has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm – breach of regulations, one count of careless use or storage of ammunition – breach of regulations, one count of possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to prohibition order, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm and three counts of breach of probation. At the time of the arrest the accused was on a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to associate with one of the co-accused.

2) 18 year-old Shane Erdman of #2-260 Wellington Street West has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm – breach of regulations, one count of careless use or storage of ammunition – breach of regulations, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

3) 18 year-old Brodie Barnes of 18 Cunningham Street has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm – breach of regulations, one count of careless use or storage of ammunition – breach of regulations, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

4) 21 year-old Tyler Seaton of no fixed address has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm – breach of regulations, one count of careless use or storage of ammunition – breach of regulations, one count of possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to prohibition order, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm and one count of breach of probation. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

5) A 17 year-old male youth was charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm – breach of regulations, one count of careless use or storage of ammunition – breach of regulations, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and four counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to associate with one of the co-accused.

Assault

An 18 year-old male was arrested on the 17th of March at 9:41 pm at an east end residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 17th of March at approximately 9:30 pm the accused assaulted his girlfriend at an east end residence by pushing her and punching her. No injuries were reported. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving

35 year-old Darren Roess of RR2 Mission Road, Goulais, Ontario was arrested on the 17th of March at 7 pm on Second Line West and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 17th of March at approximately 6:40 pm city police received a call about a possible impaired driver in the area of the Market Mall and when officers stopped and checked the vehicle in the parking lot they discovered that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of April.

Two Arrested for Shoplifting

Two male youths were arrested yesterday afternoon on St. Georges Avenue East for a shoplifting incident at the LCBO Store in the Station Mall that occurred around 11:10 am. It is alleged that on the 17th of March at 11:10 am the two accused entered the LCBO Store in the Station Mall and stole three bottles of liquor. The two were located a short while later on St. Georges Avenue East in possession of the stolen liquor. A 17 year-old male was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime and a 16 year-old male was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. They are to appear in court on the 22nd of April.
