Robbery Investigation results in Three Arrests On the 21st of March at 5:24 pm officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding a robbery at a residence in the 600 block of Queen Street East.
Robbery Investigation results in Three Arrests
On the 21st of March at 5:24 pm officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call regarding a robbery at a residence in the 600 block of Queen Street East. Officers attended at the residence and discovered that two male suspects had attended at the residence of a male known to them, grabbed him around the throat and robbed him of some cash. The two males fled in a black Ford Expedition just prior to their arrival. Police quickly located and stopped the vehicle at Albert Street near Hudson. Three persons were located in the vehicle at the time, including the two male suspects. Officers also located a .22 calibre revolver without any type of locking device, inside the vehicle. As a result, the following three persons were arrested and charged with the following offences:
1) Scott Carnes, age 32, of 1419 Peoples Road was charged with one count of robbery with violence, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized.

2) Louis Mallette, age 31, of #7-680 Portage Lane was charged with one count of robbery with violence, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized and one count of breach of a release document. At the time of the incident the accused was on a recognizance order that he not poses any weapons.

3) Amanda Bouchard, age 30, of 4 Grandy Road was charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of careless use or storage of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized.


Three Females Arrested on Outstanding Warrants
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Samantha Martel of #3-212 Albert Street East on the 21st of March at 10:43 at the police station on an outstanding warrant for an assault incident that occurred on the 22nd of February. It is alleged that on that date the accused walked up to a female that was known to her while on Pine Street and assaulted her. The female victim received injuries that required medical attention.

The accused has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and is to appear in court on the 2nd of May.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old female on the 21st of March at 8:48 pm at the police station and charged her with one count of fail to appear court. She is now to appear in court on the 12th of April.
