The following five persons are to appear in bail court this morning: 1) A 16 year-old male youth arrested on the 20th of March at 11:55 pm on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and four counts of breach of prob
The following five persons are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) A 16 year-old male youth arrested on the 20th of March at 11:55 pm on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and four counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that on the 20th of March just before midnight city police were dispatched to the area of Wellington Street East and Church Street for an altercation between some youths. When officers arrived and investigated, they discovered that the accused and another 20 year-old male got into an altercation after leaving a house party on Wellington Street East. The accused assaulted the male by striking him in the face area with a piece of firewood. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. They were both under the influence of alcohol at the time. The accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from the consumption of alcohol, not to communicate with or associate with another male that was at the party and that he was also out past his curfew.

2) A 39 year-old male was arrested on the 21st of March at 9:45 am at his place of employment and charged with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of assault, one count of criminal harassment and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 21st of March at approximately 6:15 am the accused broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence, while she was asleep. The accused then confronted the ex-girlfriend and a male friend that was with her at the time. The accused made a threatening gesture with his fist towards the male. There were no injuries reported. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

3) A 48 year-old male was arrested on the 21st of March at 7:47 pm on Northland Avenue and charged with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house and one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 21st of March just after 7 pm the accused attended at his ex-wife’s residence, got into a verbal argument with her and pushed her down some stairs. There were no injuries reported.

4) A 17 year-old male youth was arrested on the 24th of March at 11:25 am at a west end residence and charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that on the 17th of March, city police received information regarding stolen property. An investigation commenced. The accused was found in possession of a GPS unit and an IPOD that were reported stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a residence on Arizona Avenue back on the 20th of December.

5) A 17year-old male youth was arrested on the 24th of March at 7:20 pm on Churchill Boulevard on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 8th of January. At the time of the offence the accused was on condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Impaired Driving

27 year-old Laine Bertin of 41 Westgate Drive was arrested on the 22nd of March at 2:58 am on Primrose Drive an charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 22nd of March at approximately 2:55 am city police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Primrose Drive. When officers stopped and checked the driver, the accused, they discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 28th of April.

Two Charged with Assault

1) 20 year-old Krystal Marshall of 412 Albert Street East was arrested on the 22nd of March at 7:30 pm at her residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the evening of the 21st of March, in the parking lot of a centrally located bar, the accused assaulted a female known to her by grabbing her by the hair, punching her and slamming her head against a car door. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of April.

2) A 33 year-old female was arrested on the 21st of March at 4:15 am at her residence and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that one the 21st of March just after midnight the accused assaulted her common-law boyfriend by punching him in the face. It is further alleged that she attempted to strike him in the head with a beer bottle. She is to appear in court on the 28th of April.

House Fire - Arson Charges

City police Investigation Services has concluded their investigation into a vacant house fire that occurred on the 29th of December 2007. As a result, 18 year-old Michel Koussaye of 6 Hawthorne Avenue was arrested on the 20th of March at 7:50 pm at his residence and charged with one count of arson. It is alleged that the accused was responsible for lighting the fire that caused severe damage to the vacant residence in the early morning hours of the 29th of December. He is to appear in court on the 21st of April.

Mischief Charges

30 year-old Charles Walton of #5-110 Breton Road was arrested on the 21st of March at 4:50 pm and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 21st of March at approximately 4:15 pm the accused smashed a laundry room window at an apartment complex on Breton Road when he threw a piece of ice at it.

The following break and enters were reported over the weekend:

1) The Northern Heights Public School on Grand Boulevard was entered some time overnight on the 20-21st of March. A computer was reported stolen.

2) A residence on Lake Street was entered sometime between 3:30 pm on the 21st of March and 4:30 pm on the 23rd of March. A Sony Cybershot camera and two Laptops (Acer and Apple) were reported stolen.

3) A residence on Carpin Beach Road was entered sometime between 11:00 am and 9 pm on the 23rd of March. Money was reported stolen.

4) Rocky’s Laundromat on Gore Street was entered sometime between 4 pm and 5 pm on the 24th of March.
