The following two persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 44 year-old male was arrested yesterday around 5:35 pm and charged with one count of criminal harassment and two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that from the 12th of May to the 14th of May the accused contacted his ex-girlfriend by phone numerous times at her home and at her place of employment. At the time of the calls the accused was on a release document with conditions not to communicate with the victim.

2) A 23 year-old male was also arrested yesterday evening just after 11 pm regarding domestic related incidents. He has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of sexual assault, one count of criminal harassment, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that from May 2005 to the 24th of April 2007 the accused assaulted his wife on numerous occasions. The assaults involved choking, punching, pushing, dragging and kicking the victim at their place of residence. The victim did receive some injuries that were not life-threatening. It is further alleged the accused forced his wife to have sex on numerous occasions. The accused also allegedly punched several holes in walls at their residence and threatened to break the victim’s jaw if she reported the assaults to the police. From the 1st of May to the 14th of May, after their separation, it is alleged that the accused criminally harassed the victim by repeatedly driving past her residence, attending at her door and calling her on the phone a number of times.

Assault Charges

A 32 year-old male was arrested yesterday just before 10 pm at his downtown residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that around 9:20 pm the accused assaulted his ex-common law partner by grabbing and pulling at her when she was attempting to leave his residence. The accused is to appear in court on the 27th of June.

Possession of Stolen Property

27 year-old Ryan Disano of 558 North Street and 25 year-old Louise Auger of 754 Wellington Street East were both arrested at the IDA in the Station Mall yesterday just after 5 pm. Both accused were charged with one count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the two attended the store and stole some cosmetics valued at $3.99. They were apprehended by Mall security and held for police. They are to appear in court on the 25th of June.

There were no break and enters reported overnight.
