Male Arrested on Outstanding Break and Enter Warrant Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located and arrested 20 year-old Caleb Seaton of #3-472 Wellington Street East on St. Andrew's Terrace on the 7th of October at 3:45 pm.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Break and Enter Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located and arrested 20 year-old Caleb Seaton of #3-472 Wellington Street East on St. Andrew's Terrace on the 7th of October at 3:45 pm. The accused had an outstanding warrant for an incident that occurred on the evening of the 3rd of October when he allegedly broke into a residence on Chicora Crescent with another male suspect and ransacked the residence.

The homeowner arrived home during the break in and was assaulted by the accused with a claw hammer. The accused had fled on foot prior to police arrival. The victim attended at Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The victim and the accused are known to each other.

The accused has been charged with one count of break and enter a place and commit the indictable offence of aggravated assault and one count of breach of probation, as at the time he was on conditions that he keep the peace and be good. At the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of a small amount of oxycodone, morphine, cocaine and marijuana and was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Four Males Arrested for Break and Enter at Old Northern Breweries Building on Bay Street

Offices with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested four males on the 8th of October at 6:24 am at the old Northern Breweries building on Bay Street after responding to a break and enter in progress complaint at the site. Officers arriving found the males inside and all were arrested without incident.

One of the males, 29 year-old Joseph Cellini of #2-320 Albert Street East was found in possession of break and enter instruments, including a pair of needle nose pliers, screw driver and bits and a flashlight, as well as stolen items from one of the offices. He was also found in possession of three knives, a bayonet and a baggy of marijuana. As a result Cellini was charged with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of possession of break in instruments, one count of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.

A second male adult, 22 year-old, was charged with one count of break and enter a place. The other two males were youths, ages 16 and 17 and both were charged with one count of break and enter a place. All four males are to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Females Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29 year-old Misty-Dawn Fleming of 14 Blucher Street on an outstanding warrant on the 7th of October at 3:30 pm at her residence. She has been charged with one count of fail to appear court for allegedly not attending court on the 12th of September. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Keyleigh Downey of no fixed address on the 7th of October at 10:25 pm and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation in relation to an assault incident that occurred at the Sault Area Hospital on the 2nd of June when she allegedly assaulted a staff member. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Four Domestic Related Arrests

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 42 year-old male on the 8th of October at his residence and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife at their residence by pushing her against a wall and grabbing her around the neck.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 26 year-old male on the 9th of October and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 9th of October the accused spat on his girlfriend during a verbal dispute at his residence.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32 year-old male and a 30 year-old female on the 10th of October at 3:58 pm and charged them both with two counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that officers responded to a domestic dispute at the residence of the male and when they ran a check on both parties they discovered that they were on recognizance and release document with conditions to remain 100 metres away and not to communicate or associate with each other. Both are to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Break & Enter and Personation

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Michael Gingras of 2820 Mission Road Goulais River, Ontario on the 10th of October on Frontenac Street and charged him with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one count of break and enter a dwelling, one count of personation with intent and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 10th of October around 4:40 am officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Trunk Road. The vehicle was observed turning into a business parking lot on Trunk Road and when officers approached the vehicle with their cruiser, the driver of the vehicle made a u-turn in the parking lot and proceeded towards the exit.

When officers stopped their cruiser at the business exit, the accused driver stopped the vehicle briefly and then accelerated towards the cruiser at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then veered away and the driver proceeded west on Trunk Road at a high rate of speed, swerving and crossing the center line numerous times.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the Rankin Reserve area, but the driver would not stop. A female passenger inside the fleeing vehicle attempted to exit the car on two occasions and was able to do so on August Street. The vehicle continued on and was found a short time later on a dead-end road in the Rankin Reserve. Officers observed two male occupants flee on foot from the car as they approached and contacted the OPP Canine Unit to assist in searching the area for them.

Officers located the driver in the area of Tecumseh and Frontenac Street and arrested him for flight from police. The two occupants that were apprehended were later released following an investigation by officers. During the investigation, officers also discovered that the accused had broken into a residence on Gran Street and changed his clothing just prior to his apprehension. When Officers were dealing with the accused, he falsely identified himself.

At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions that he keep the peace and be good. The accused is to appear in court on the 14th of November.
