Male Youth Arrested for Break and Enter and Breach of Probation

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth at 10:05 am yesterday morning and charged him with one count of break and enter a place and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 17th of October at approximately 10:03 am officers received a call to a local hotel to remove an unwanted male that was found inside one of the rooms. When officers arrived and investigated the incident they discovered that the youth had broken into the room.

At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Three Persons Charged as a Result of Drug Search Warrant

On the 17th of October at 4:40 pm, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team, along with the Emergency Services Unit and the OPP K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant at 312 Gillies Street. During the search police located 53 grams of marihuana, packaging materials, a scale and a quantity of cash. Police also located a knife that opened with centrifugal force (flick knife). The street value of the drugs seized was $1060. As a result three persons were arrested and charged with the following offences:

1) Jeremy Miller, age 21, of 312 Gillies Street was charged with one count of possession of controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon and one count of breach of probation. At the time of the offence the accused was on a weapons prohibition order and was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) Stephen Miller, age 56, of 312 Gillies Street was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled drug and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. He is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

3) Laurie Miller, age 47, of 312 Gillies Street was charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. She is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

Shoplifting Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30 year-old Paula Kehoe of 282 Cathcart Street (main floor) on the 17th of October at 3:48 pm at Joe’s No Frills on Korah Road and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on that date the accused at the grocery store and stole razors and medication. The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 64 year-old Allen Boyer of 860 Great Northern Road last night on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear for prints. It is alleged that he failed to appear for prints on the 28th of June in relation to an assault charge. He is to appear in court on the 21st of November.

Break and Enter Reports

• A residence on Birch Street was broken into sometime over the past weekend. Numerous items were reported stolen.

• A garage on Murton Avenue was entered sometime during the day yesterday. Four cans of gas were reported stolen.

• A shed was entered on Alexander Street and a freezer was reported stolen.

Theft Reports

• Two tire rims were reported stolen from a local tire business.

Mischief Reports

• Vehicles were vandalized on Campbell Avenue and Pozzebon Crescent.

• A small amount of graffiti was reported to the Roberta Bondar tent.
