ASSAULTED AT PUB At 11:50 last night, city police were called to Madison’s Pub, in the Pine Plaza in regards to an altercation. After speaking to a female complainant officers arrested two females for assault and threatening.

At 11:50 last night, city police were called to Madison’s Pub, in the Pine Plaza in regards to an altercation. After speaking to a female complainant officers arrested two females for assault and threatening.

It is alleged that 26-year-old Jayme Wismer, of 700 Pine Street and 24-year–old Dayna Johnston, of 94 Allard Street assaulted the complainant, by grabbing her throat and threatened to kill her. Both accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.


THEFT FROM VEHICLES
At 11:45 last night a resident of the 100 block of Allen’s Side Rd heard his car doors open and close. Upon going out to see what was happening, he saw two young males running from his residence. The police were called and the suspects were subsequently arrested.

Charged with Attempt Theft, Prowl by Night and Breach of Probation are: Wayne Wendle McInnis, age 21 of 12 Digby Crescent and Curtis Michael Desormeaux, age 19 also of 12 Digby Crescent. Both accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.

Residents living in the area of Allen’s Side Road and Base line are asked to check their vehicles to see is anything is missing.


MANY CHARGES FOR YOUTH
A 15-year-old youth will be attending Bail Court today after two incidents of threatening.

It is alleged that on Sunday Oct. 17th, the youth threatened to kill a staff worker at the youth detention centre on Second Line West.

It is further alleged that on the 18th of October at approx. 8:00 p.m., the accused broke a glass window and used a piece of the glass as a weapon to threaten other staff workers at the detention centre.

The youth is charged with: Mischief- 2 counts, Threatening – 9 counts and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.


COUNTERFEIT CASH
City Police are advising the public and business owners to be aware that numerous counterfeit $10.00 and $20.00 have shown up over the past weekend. Check the quality and feel of the money being transferred.


STOP FOR SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS
The Sault Ste Marie City Police have recently received numerous complaints about motorists failing to stop for school crossing guards. Not only is this an offence under the Highway Traffic Act but it also a very dangerous practice.

The law states that the drivers of ALL vehicles approaching a school crossing guard, with the stop sign extended shall stop prior to arriving at the crossing. The fine for this offence is $90.00 and 3 demerit points. Please remember that the guards are there to cross our children. Officers from both Traffic and Patrol Services will be out enforcing this law.


TRANSIT DAMAGE
The City Police and the Transit Authority are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the culprits responsible for damaging a bus shelter on Bennett Blvd. yesterday. Vandals broke the glass on the shelter. Anyone with information about this mischief is asked to contact the City Police of the Transit Authority.
