Update to 22nd of October armed robbery at Tim Horton’s:

Three 17 year-old males have been charged in connection to this robbery and charged each with one count of robbery, one count of forcible confinement and one count use of a firearm or imitation during commission of an offence. One of the youths was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, as he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

It is alleged that on the 22nd of October at approximately 3:55 am the three youths entered the Tim Hortons business on Trunk Road wearing black balaclava style masks and bandanas armed with a gun, a sledgehammer and a table leg. Two of the accused ordered the two employees that were inside to lie on the floor while the other accused locked the entrance and exit doors and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. All three fled on foot. The Canine Unit was called out to assist and all three males were arrested after they were tracked and located in the bush areas off of Queen Street East near the golf course and the sewage plant and one in the Queen Street East Boundary Road area.
The employees at Tim Hortons were not physically harmed.
All three males are to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving

44 year-old Stephen Hill of 524 Goulais Avenue was arrested on the 22nd of October at 8:44 pm on Second Line West at Peoples Road and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over legal limit. It is alleged that the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Second Line West and Peoples Road at approximately 8:20 pm last evening. The accused made a left hand turn from Wellington Street West onto Second Line West into the path of a vehicle that was proceeding southbound on Peoples Road through the intersection at Second Line. When officers attended to investigate the accident they found the accused to be under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries involved in the accident and minor damaged was reported to both vehicles. The accused will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Seven Counts of Theft & Possession of Stolen Property

20 year-old William Swain of Lot 2 RR2 Aberdeen Township in Bruce Mines was arrested at the court house at 1:55 pm and charged with seven counts of theft over $5,000.00 and seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused was involved in several thefts of motor vehicles in July and August of this year. Investigation Services were assisted by the O.P.P in this investigation. One of the vehicles, a 1991 Ford Pick up was located by the O.P.P. on the 2nd of July in Garden River, burned and stuck in the mud in a bush area. It is further alleged that the accused was involved in the theft of a 1995 Ford Ranger from City Centre Motors on Great Northern Road on the 16th of July, a 1997 Ford F150 from an apartment complex lot on Trunk Road sometime between the 14th and 19th of July, a 1988 BMW between the 1st and the 26th of July, a 2006 Ford F350 4x4 from Maitland Motors on the 25th of July, a 2004 Ford F250 4x4 from Maitland Ford from the 25th – 27th of July and 2002 Ford F250 Super crew from Highland Ford sometime between the 1st and the 27th of August. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
A 17 year-old youth was also involved in some of these incidents, arrested and charged on the 17th of October– this was put out on the 18th of October News Release.

The following break and enter reports were taken yesterday:

1) A garage on Country Club Place was entered overnight on the 21st -22nd of October. A men’s bicycle was reported stolen.

2) There was an attempt break and enter reported to the All Season Sports Wear on King Street that occurred sometime between 5:30 pm on the 21st of October and 9 am on the 22nd.

3) A garage on Smale Avenue was entered sometime over the past weekend. It is unknown what was taken.

4) A residence on Wellington Street West was entered on the 22nd of October between 12:30 and 3:30 pm. Two hunting knives were reported stolen.
