Two male persons to appear in bail court this morning in relation to domestic incidents: 1) A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 6th of October at 11:10 am at his residence and charged with one count of assault.
Two male persons to appear in bail court this morning in relation to domestic incidents:

1) A 29 year-old male was arrested on the 6th of October at 11:10 am at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 6th of October around 10:30 am the accused assaulted his common law spouse at their residence by punching her in the face. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

2) A 63 year-old male was arrested on the 6th of October at 5:40 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 6th of October at approximately 5:20 pm the accused assaulted his wife at their residence by grabbing her and shoving her into a chair. There were no injuries reported.

Two Males Arrested On Outstanding Warrants:

1) 44 year-old Kevin Stewart of 44 Princess Crescent was arrested on the 6th of October at 11:05 am at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. He has been charged with one count of failing to appear for prints from the 4th of September. He is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

2) 35 year-old Jeremy Meloche of #1-102 Breton Road was arrested on the 6th of October at the city police station after turning himself in on an outstanding warrant. He has been charged with one count of breach of an undertaking for failing to report to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service on the 29th of September as required by his release order. He is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

One injured in Motor Vehicle Collision

City police attended at a motor vehicle collision yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:15 pm on Brock Street that sent one 91 year-old male driver to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that the 91 year-old driver who was operating a Buick vehicle and was attempting to exit from the rear of a business in the 600 block of Queen Street East, pulled out onto Brock Street and struck a southbound GMC Yukon that was being operated by a 58 year-old female.
The driver of the Buick, Omer Lapointe of #401-721 North Street was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of fail to yield from driveway.

City Police Respond with Fire Services to a House Fire in 400 block of Albert Street East

City police were dispatched to assist Fire Services at a house fire in the 400 block of Albert Street East last night around 12:52 am. There was no one in the residence at time – no other reports of injuries. Fire Services remains on scene and continues the investigation into the cause of the fire.

Attempt Robbery under Investigation

A 19 year-old male contacted city police last night at 11:51 pm and reported that two males had just jumped him and attempted to steal his MP3 player around 11:50 pm in the area of Albert Street and Tancred Street. The victim advised he was walking in that area when two male youths, not known to him, approached him and demanded that he give them what he had. One of the males punched him and the other pushed him to the ground. The victim dropped his MP3 player on the ground and the two suspects ran off empty handed southbound on Tancred Street. The male walked home and contacted police. Police checked the area but could not locate the suspects.

The suspects were described as: The first male that punched him was approximately 15-17 years of age, 6 foot, slim build, short dark hair, clean shaven and wearing a white t-shirt. The second male was around the same age, 5’10”, clean shaven, dark curly hair, wearing a dark hoodie, a blue and a white ball cap.

Property Crimes:

Theft Reports

- A handicap parking permit was reported stolen from a vehicle on Trunk Road.
- A tricycle was stolen form the Apartment complex at 70 East Street yesterday.
- The locks of a sheds on Fournier Road and Pentagon Boulevard were cut off –entry was gained but it is not known if anything was taken.
- Vehicles were entered in the 4000 block of Queen Street East and on Promenade Drive. A purse and CD’S were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports

- A garage door at a residence in the 1400 block of Peoples Road was damaged when someone shot pellets at it.
- A Street light was smashed in the 400 block of Northland Road. There was also some graffiti on the building wall.
- A blue and yellow recycle box were reported damaged on Princess Crescent. It Appears that a vehicle may have ran over the boxes.
- There was damage done to the pad lock the compound of River City Motor Sports when someone attempted to break in sometime overnight on the 6th of October.
