The only reportable arrest this morning is 30 year-old Julie McDonald of 565 Parliament Street. She was arrested on the 1st of April at 2:46 pm at Rome’s Independent Grocers on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of assault, one count of breach of probation and one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 1st of April the accused attended at Rome’s and stole some makeup. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. It is further alleged that while in the security office, she assaulted the security officer by throwing a phone receiver striking the officer in the face. No injuries were reported. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. She is to appear in court on the 5th of May.

There were three break and enters reported yesterday:

1) A residence on McMeeken Street was entered on the 1st of April sometime between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. The suspect fled when discovering one of the residents was home sleeping on the couch. There was nothing reported stolen.

2) A residence on Golf Range Crescent was entered on the 1st of April between 9 am and 5:15 pm. A phone, an Acer Laptop computer, a Nintendo DS and WII, a PS2, wireless game controllers and video games were reported stolen.

3) There was an attempt break and enter to a residence on Ransome Drive.
