Bail court:
1) Yesterday afternoon city police were called to a centrally located address regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival officers spoke to a female complaining of an assault. It is alleged that at approx. 2:30 pm yesterday the accused male assaulted his ex-girlfriend by pushing her to the ground - injuring her hand. It is further alleged that the accused then slapped the victim across the face. A 24-year-old male is charged with one count of assault. The victim suffered a bruised leg and a sore hand but did not require medical attention for her injuries.
2) Yesterday evening at approx. 10:30 am city police were called to a downtown location regarding a domestic assault. Upon arrival officers received information from a female complainant and subsequently arrested a 30 -year-old male for assault. It is alleged that the accused male and his common-law partner were involved in an argument. During the argument the accused pushed the victim down a set of stairs. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. The 30-year-old male is charged with one count of assault.
3) Last night at approx. 11:50 pm city police were called to the north end of the city regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival officers spoke to a female complaining that she was assaulted by her husband. It is alleged that last evening the accused and the victim were involved in an argument. During the argument the accused grabbed the victim by her arms and threw her into a shower. The accused then choked her. The 35-year-old male is charged with one count of assault.
Two youths arrested for trespass by night:
At approx. 2:30 am this morning city police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Henrietta Ave regarding a broken window. Upon arrival officers were informed that four youths had been in the victim’s backyard and that one of them had broken a window. Upon searching area officers located two 17-year-old males hiding in neighbouring yards. The two youths were each charged with one count of trespass by night and will be appearing in court on Sept. 9th at 9:30 am.
City police received three reports of mischief overnight.
1. A window was broken at the Fraternal Order of Eagles located at 246 Wellington St. W. Incident occurred yesterday morning.
2. An apartment door was damaged at a residence in the 100 block of Clearview Dr.
3. A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Cambridge Pl. had a tire slashed.
City police received theft reports at the following locations:
1. The 100 block of Bowker St. - money stolen from a vehicle.
2. The 100 block of Goetz St. - a 32’ extension ladder was stolen.
3. The 100 block of Champagne Dr. - garden table stolen
4. The 300 block of Farwell Terr. - wallet stolen.
5. The 100 block of Chapple Ave. - wallet stolen.
6. The 100 block of Bay St. - items stolen from a vehicle.
7. The 100 block of railroad Ave - driver’s licence and identification stolen from a vehicle.
8. The 600 block of Queen St. E. - tools stolen from a garage.
9. The 700 block of McKenzie Ave - bicycle stolen.
10. The 200 block of Beverly St. - bicycle stolen.
