Investigation Services Arrest Male Wanted in Connection with the Knife Threatening Incident at the Beaver Gas Station from 17th December 2008:

Male Youth with Knife Threatens Beaver Gas Station Attendant:


On the 17th of December at 10:51 am city police received a call to attend at the Beaver Fuels on Trunk Road after a male youth pulled a knife on the attendant. It is alleged that the accused attempted to purchase a package of cigarettes. The attendant felt that he was not of age and asked him for identification, which he could not provide. The attendant refused to sell him the cigarettes and the male became upset, began to curse at the attendant and when leaving he pulled out a knife and threatened to slit the attendant’s throat. The male left the area walking with a female in an eastbound direction on Trunk Road. Officers attended in the area but did not locate the suspect.
The suspect was described as being around 17 years of age, shoulder length dark hair, slim build, approximately 5’11” and was wearing a grey jacket with a white hoodie underneath, blue jeans and white runners.


22 year-old Cody Cuthbertson of no fixed address was arrested on the 10th of February at 8:40 pm at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and was charged with one count of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public and one count of breach of probation. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:

1) 37 year-old Shannon Edwards of 11 Ontario Street Unit #12 in Wawa, Ontario was arrested on the 10th of February at 5:20 pm at the police station after turning herself in and charged with one count of fail to appear for prints on the 15th of January. She is to appear in court on the 16th of March.

2) 23 year-old Zebadiaha Rendell of 66 Hillside Drive was arrested on the 10th of February at 6 pm at the police station and charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 2nd of February. He is to appear in court on the 16th of March.

Male Wanted for Domestic Related Incidents Arrested:

A 22 year-old male was arrested on the 10th of February just after 8 pm in relation to several domestic related incidents. He has been charged with one count of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of assault, five counts of breach of probation, two counts of breach of a release order and three counts of obstruct justice. It is alleged that in November 2008, the accused assaulted his girlfriend while walking on an east end street by pushing her to the ground and holding her down. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged that between the 30th of December and the 10th of February the accused called the same victim approximately 30 times and sent several letters to her and at the time he was on an undertaking release document with conditions not to communicate with her. During some of the calls and through some of the messages the accused directed the victim and two witnesses not to testify in court regarding the incidents and threatened to slit the throat of one their family members if they did so. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Appealing for Public’s Assistance for Information regarding Motor Vehicle Collisions:

On the 10th of February at approximately 12:15 pm a motor vehicle collision occurred at Great Northern Road and Schultz Road involving a red 2007 Volvo Tractor Trailer Unit that was northbound on Great Northern Road and a southbound 1991 red Jeep Cherokee. The Tractor Trailer Unit received a moderate amount of damage and the jeep was demolished. The driver of the Jeep was sent to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.
