Two arrested since yesterday morning: 1) A 17 year-old youth was arrested at 11 am at the court house on the 8th of January.
Two arrested since yesterday morning:

1) A 17 year-old youth was arrested at 11 am at the court house on the 8th of January. He was charged with one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act in relation to breaching a curfew condition.
He was also charged with one count of fail to appear for court/fingerprints from the 18th of December 2007. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 16 year-old male youth was arrested at 11 am at the court house on the 8th of January and charged with one count of fail to appear for fingerprints on the 24th of December 2007 in relation to theft and possession of property obtained by crime charges from the 19th of November 2007.

Two break and enters were reported yesterday:

1) An attempt break and enter to a garage on River Road that occurred some time during the past ten days. No entry was gained.

2) An attempt break and enter to a residence on Portage Lane that occurred sometime between 2:30 - 3:30 pm on the 5th of January.

Motor Vehicle Collision

City police attended to a motor vehicle collision on the 8th of January that occurred at 11:15 pm at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Second Line East that sent one person to hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. It is alleged that a male driver operating a 1989 Ford pick that was northbound on Great Northern Road attempted to make a left turn onto Second Line East when his vehicle struck an Oldsmobile that was travelling southbound on Great Northern Road. The driver of the Oldsmobile, a 31 year-old male was the person injured in the collision. He was treated at hospital and released.
The driver of the Ford pick up, 35 year-old Samuel Pyke of 423 First Avenue was charged with one count of left turn - fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision under the Highway Traffic Act. Both vehicles sustained a moderate amount of damage.
