ARREST FOR MISSING COURT DATE In early May 2003, a 24-year-old female was arrested and charged with impaired driving and was released from police custody with the condition she attend court on June 9th.

In early May 2003, a 24-year-old female was arrested and charged with impaired driving and was released from police custody with the condition she attend court on June 9th.

On June 10th at 10:10 am Cindy Morissette, age 24 of 139 Second Line West went to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Building advising officers there that she failed to attend court the day before. A Police records check confirmed this and Morissette was arrested and charged with Failing to Appear in Court. Her new court date is July 14th.


ALLEGED PIZZA PIRATES ARRESTED
Police have made arrests in connection with a robbery on May 5th at approximately 11:00 pm. Two males entered a pizza delivery business on Great Northern Road to pick up an order they had placed.

Unable to pay for the items, one of the males struck a staff member and pushed the employee to the ground several times. The employee was not seriously injured. After the altercation, the two males left business on foot without out paying for the food they took with them.

Patrol officers were called to the scene and an investigation was commenced. On June 9th at 12:08 pm detectives arrested and charged Adam Reed, age 20 of 35 Pelican Drive with Robbery. He will appear in court on July 14th.

Yesterday at 1:30 pm, Michael Gregorini, age 18 of 31 Oryme Ave. # 308 went to the police station surrendered himself to detectives. Gregorini, the other male believed involved in this incident, was arrested and charged in connection with the above noted robbery. He will appear in court on July 14th.


CHARGED WITH THREATENING
On June 1st, 2003 the accused, Ernest Caputo, age 34 of 66 Wemyss Street, told a third party that he was going to assault a 28-year-old male.

On June 9th, the potential victim of the assault was at a restaurant on Trunk Road when Caputo approached him and directly threatened to cause bodily harm to him.

Yesterday at 3:00 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Threatening Bodily Harm. He will appear in court on July 14th.


THREATENED WITH KNIFE
On June 7th at shortly after 5:00 am, an 18-year-old female who was sleeping on her couch in the living room of her east end residence, was awaken to find her 21-year-old ex-boyfriend standing over her holding a large butcher knife.

The victim began screaming and threw her blanket over top of the male's hands as well as the knife, attempting to get the knife away from him. He then fled the residence on foot. The female was not injured.

On June 10th at 3:00 pm, officers arrested and charged the accused male with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter and two counts of Breach of Recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.

The identity of the accused cannot be released to protect the identity of the victim.


ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Yesterday at 9:00 pm at Canadian Tire, Heather Rivers, age 29 of #1-170 Breton Road allegedly removed a DVD and VCR player from the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

Rivers was confronted by store staff and arrested for Theft. In an attempt to escape the staff members, Rivers repeatedly pulled away. At 9:10 pm patrol officers arrived and took custody of Rivers.

She has been charged with Theft under $5,000.00, Possession of Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest. She will appear in court July 14th.


SEXUAL ASSAULT
Early today at 3:35 am, a 22-year-old male was at an apartment in the city's downtown area with two young females. The male sexually assaulted the females, age 17 and 18 years, when he fondled them and attempted to touch their groin areas.

At 5:58 am, patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with two counts of Sexual Assault. It is anticipated that he will appear in court in mid July.


BREAK & ENTERS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated several break-ins to out buildings yesterday. At 4:20 pm a homeowner on Brule Road reported that thieves entered their shed.

At 2:27 this morning police were advised that thieves attempted to enter a shed behind a residence on Nelson Street but were unsuccessful.

At 3:39 this morning, a homeowner on Goulais Avenue reported that his garage had been entered and some tools had been stolen.
