Male arrested for theft under $ 5,000: Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for theft.

Male arrested for theft under $ 5,000:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that the accused entered the “ Raw” Store in the Station Mall and stole two purses valued at $ 225.00. The accused was apprehended by the store owner and held for police. Nicolas Fronzi, age 20, of 736 McKenzie Ave is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000. Mr. Fronzi is to appear in court on April 23rd at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for mischief:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 52-year-old male for mischief. It is alleged that on October 14th 2011 the accused damaged a car parked on Great Northern Rd. David Dinsmore, age 52, of  21 Pants Lake, Heyden is charged with one count of mischief under $ 5,000. Mr. Dinsmore is to appear in court on April 23rd at 9:00 am.

Mischief:

A building in the 100 block of Dennis St. was damaged.

Robbery:

This morning at approximately 1:30 am city police were called to an apartment building in the 100 block of St. Andrews Terr. regarding a robbery. The building landlord reports that a male and female knocked on her apartment door. When the victim opened the door the male suspect pepper sprayed the victim. The two then demanded the victim turn over her prescription medication. The two suspects stole a  quantity of prescription drugs, cash and a laptop computer. The suspects are described as:

  1. Female, white, 5'3” tall, short straight blonde hair, wearing a striped coloured hat and dark clothing. 

      2.   Male, 6’ tall, thin build and wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. 

Male arrested for drive over 80 mgs:

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 24-year-old male for drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that at 3:50 am  the accused was operating his motor vehicle on Fournier Rd, while under the influence of alcohol. The accused took a roadside screening test and registered a fail. Bryan Binda, age 24, of 46 Hiawatha St is charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs.

Theft: 

A trailer was stolen from the 1000 block of Queen St. E.

A beige 2002 Montana van was stolen from the 1200 block of Second Line W.

A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Great Northern Rd. was entered. Electronic equipment was reported stolen.

Several scratch tickets were stolen from a store in the 300 block of McNabb St.
