Male Arrested for Shoplifting Incidents:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old James Merrimen of no fixed address on the 6th March at Wal-Mart on Great Northern Road and charged him with two counts of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 5th and 6th of March the accused attended at Wal-Mart and stole numerous items. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant for Aggravated Assault:
Michael Hodgson, age 25, of 27 Nebenaigoching Street, Rankin Reserve, was arrested yesterday afternoon on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of breach of probation. The accused was wanted for allegedly assaulting a female known to him while at a gathering at a residence on the 3rd of March. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that required medical attention. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Male Arrested for Mischief:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23 year-old Michael Rellinger of 35 Willowby, Elliot Lake on the 6th of March at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that while in custody at the Centre, the accused damaged a phone. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Break and Enter/Theft Reports:
- A business on Great Northern Road was broken into last night. A male wearing a hood pulled over is head was observed running from the building. Nothing was reported taken.
- Two licence plates were reported stolen from vehicles on Wilson Street and Atwater Street.
