39 year-old Ronald Randy Lapossie of 363 Goulais Avenue was arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80 mg at 8:20 pm last night. Mr. Lapossie is alleged to have been driving a vehicle near Dovercourt and Third Avenue when the vehicle he was driving struck a mailbox. When patrol officers arrived they located Mr. Lapossie at a residence on Dovercourt Street where he was arrested. A court date of June 14th has been set.

OOOPS! I FORGOT

A young offender will appear in bail court this morning after being charged with breach of probation and failing to attend court. The young person is on a condition to reside at a group home and failed to return to the home on the 10th of May. When arrested by patrol officers last night at 10:00 pm the young person advised the officers that they did not attend their May 11th court date.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

A 34 year-old man was arrested early this morning after a domestic dispute at a downtown residence. The man is alleged to have returned home at approximately 2:30 this morning and then assaulted the first victim by pulling hair and scratching the victim’s face. A second victim was assaulted by the accused when he grabbed the victim by the hair and throat leaving scratches and red marks on the neck. The accused will appear in bail this morning at 10:00 am.

YOUNG OFFENDER PICKED UP

Patrol officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at an east end residence this morning at 4:35 and arrested a young offender. City police received a call to have the youth removed from the residence because of their out-of-control behavior. The young person was on probation to abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to abide by a curfew. The young person, who was found to be in contravention of these two conditions, was then arrested and taken to the police station until a 10:00 am bail court appearance today.
