Male Youth Arrested for Residence Break and Enter:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 14 year-old male youth yesterday afternoon at the police station and charged him with one count of break and enter. It is alleged that on the 28th of November between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, the accused broke into a residence on Pim Street and stole a Dell laptop computer and a number of other items. The accused is to appear in court on the 10th of January 2012.
Two Shoplifting Arrests:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Jeffery Humphries of 4 Raymond Street yesterday afternoon at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 29th of November at approximately 1:47 pm the accused attended at Zellers and stole several pairs of earrings. The accused fled on foot from the store but was quickly apprehended by a store security officer and held for police. At the time of this incident the accused was on a peace bond with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Police attended, charged and released the accused on an appearance notice with a court date of the 9th of January 2012.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 43 year-old Tammy Moore of 168 Andrew Street yesterday at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 29th of November at approximately 4:30 pm the accused attended at Zellers and stole some items. The accused left the store and was quickly apprehended by a store security officer and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 9th of January 2012.
Break and Enter/Theft Reports:
- A residence on Grosvenor Avenue was entered sometime between 5:45 pm on Tuesday and 12:30 am Wednesday. Prescription medication and some cash were reported stolen.
- A residence on Roosevelt Avenue was entered last night. Silver and assorted coins were reported stolen.
- A business on Trunk Road reported theft of aluminum from the property.
Mischief Reports:
- A vehicle on Broadview Avenue was vandalized with black spray paint.
- A fence on Peoples Road was reported vandalized.
