One Person to Appear in Bail Court

The only person appearing in bail court this morning will be 19 year-old Nicholas Binda of 47 Smale Avenue. He was arrested this morning at 5:15 am at the city police station a after turning himself in on outstanding warrants. He has been charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 5th of December 2006 and one count of breach of recognizance for failing to report to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service as a condition of his recognizance on the 24th of November and the 1st of December 2006.

Charged for Breaking Curfew

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested on the 9th of October at 9:40 pm on Pine Street and charged with one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that this youth was located and checked by city police on Pine Street at 9:30 pm and he is currently on probation with curfew conditions to be in his place of residence from 6 pm to 6 am. He is to appear in court on the 6th of November.

There were four mischief reports taken yesterday:

1) Rocks were thrown at a rear picture window of a residence on Wellington Street East some time overnight on the 9th of October.

2) Profanities were written on the conference wall at the Days Inn on Bay Street.

3) A vehicle was scratched on Lake Street.

4) A rear wall at the vacant St. Veronica’s School on East Balfour was damaged when a stolen vehicle was driven into it. The vehicle had been stolen from the lot of Nichol’s Auto Body on People’s Road where it was parked – it is not known when it was stolen.

One Break & Enter

There was a break and enter reported to a residence in the 700 block of Queen Street East that occurred between 3:30 pm and 5:26 pm on the 9th of October. A video camera, a Nikkon camera and a Kodak Easy Share camera were reported stolen.
