SUSPECT TURNS HIMSELF IN TO POLICE On Monday at 4:05 p.m., Police attempted to stop a vehicle that was being driven by David Maitland, age 27, of 331 Cheshire Road. Maitland pulled into his driveway and ran from the police.

On Monday at 4:05 p.m., Police attempted to stop a vehicle that was being driven by David Maitland, age 27, of 331 Cheshire Road. Maitland pulled into his driveway and ran from the police.

Further investigation revealed that Maitland is on probation to not communicate with a passenger that was in his vehicle. Maitland turned himself into police yesterday at 11:05 a.m. He was arrested and charged with breach of probation. He will appear in court on October 7.


ACCUSED POINTS RIFLE AT POLICE
Early this morning, at 1:00 o'clock, members of the police emergency services unit were dispatched to a private residence in the 600 block of Old Goulais Bay Road where a man was reported in the yard with a rifle.

Police located the man carrying a rifle and a bottle of beer outside the residence. The suspect was cautioned to put the rifle down but he refused. He then pointed the firearm at the officers and verbally challenged them.
