Searchmont Resort, under new ownership and management since 2018 has become one of Ontario’s fastest growing outdoor recreational resorts.
Since purchased in 2018, the new Searchmont has invested heavily in infrastructure upgrades including 30 new ski in/out condo suits, 3 new chair lifts, 2 new carpet lifts and new snowmaking infrastructure including new supply and production pumps, compressors, 200 new fan guns installed and kilometers of new pipe across its 26 trails over 100 skiable acres.
Searchmont boasts 4 lifts, 2 carpets, 90% snowmaking coverage and a vertical rise of over 700 ft. Searchmont, is one of Ontario’s best ski experiences with an abundance of natural snow, cold weather for snowmaking, and the longest ski season in the province, opening consistently mid Nov-Mid April. Searchmont season pass holders can access 5 additional sister resorts with an all-inclusive seasons pass valid at all 6 resorts across Ontario, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Future plans include a hotel, more condominium style buildings, residential property, additional restaurants as well as continued lift, trail and snowmaking improvements.

Job Title: Operations Maintenance Worker/Snowmaker

Responsibilities
1. Install, maintain and operate all snowmaking related equipment.
2. Participate in new development and construction projects.
3. Work closely with coworkers to meet to ensure a great guest experience.
4. Lead, mentor and coach seasonal snowmaking staff.
5. Operate various types of equipment.
6. Maintain a safe and productive workplace, often working unsupervised and in a team environment

Additional Duties: Due to the many variables that affect winter resort operations, such as weather and number of guests, occasionally employees may be asked to perform other duties or to assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility as needed.

Experience and Qualifications
• Equipment operation experience and welding/fabricating experience an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors year round.
• Able to work with standard computer software.
• Able to work long hours over different time frames depending on seasonal workload demands. Ability to work weekends in holidays.
• Be a team player; be passionate and positive in everything they do
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.
• Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

***This is a physically demanding job. You may be required to lift over 50lbs, walk, ski, snowboard, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. You will be frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. There are specific vision requirements including distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
