Join our team! The Township of St. Joseph is currently seeking an Operator/Labourer in the Public Works Department. Under the direction of the Superintendent of Works, the Operator will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges, public works, parks, and recreational facilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills to support day-to-day operations and interact effectively with the public. The candidate must be self-directed, show initiative, and demonstrate attention to detail. Knowledge of, and compliance with, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Knowledge of other relevant legislation, regulations, and policies would be considered an asset.
Located approximately 40 km east of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, the Township of St. Joseph occupies the northern portion of St. Joseph Island, including the town of Richards Landing and surrounding rural areas, and is home to over 1,400 year-round residents with a large seasonal population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma
• Current DZ license (abstract required)
• Minimum 5 years related heavy equipment operator, (grader experience considered an asset)
