The Fugitives are a Vancouver-based folk group headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod. They’re joined by banjo player Rob McLaren (The Barrel Boys, Union Duke) and violinist Carly Frey (The Coal Porters). Their last two albums have amassed a JUNO nomination for Best Roots Album, as well as 4 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, including Best Songwriter, Best Ensemble, and Vocal Group of the Year. Previous to that, they released 4 other records, including The Promise of Strangers, which was voted the 2018 Folk Album of the Year by the German Music Critics Association, and 2012's Everything Will Happen, which charted on Canada's earshot top ten folk charts for 10 weeks straight.
They've toured extensively through Canada, Europe, and the UK, with performance highlights including major Canadian folk festivals and a performance at Glastonbury. The band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows, brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling, and top-notch musicianship. As the CBC says: "This show is simply brilliant."
