Semester 2 Museum Experience!

You are cordially invited to join us for the highly anticipated Semester 2 May Museum Experience at the Waterdown Legion.

Our May Exhibition opens with the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands. Join us for special events during this week to mark this historic milestone. The Liberation flame from Holland is scheduled to make a stop at the Museum on Thursday, May 8th. Follow us on social media for details.

This year we have 16 student-curated powerful exhibits, some that connect to the Liberation of the Netherlands. Visitors can explore stories like Operation Manna, the Allied mission to drop food over Dutch cities in 1945, and the inspiring legacy of Murray Dryden’s Maple Leaf Club, which supported Canadian soldiers overseas.

Also featured is Sam Shapiro—tunneller in the Great Escape and organizer of the first hockey games in Stalag Luft III. Alongside these are thoughtful student-created displays on WWII and a special joint exhibit on The Wounded of WWI, reflecting the enduring impact of both world wars on soldiers and civilians alike.
