Notice of an 18-month administrative contract with the potential for permanent employment

The Opportunity: Responsible for a variety of general human resources activities and administrative duties. Including: general office assistance, administration, maintaining and providing statistics to appropriate personnel; manages the departments invoices and requisitions, administers employment stability committee applications and funding, will provide administrative services to facilitate recruitment processes including onboarding, complete contract approvals, maintenance of an effective records management system, plans and coordinates HR events, PD Sessions, and Orientations. Provides support in additional HR functions as needed. Provides support in labour relations to ensure effective and timely communication and conflict resolution.

What you need to be successful:
Three-year diploma/degree in Business Administration specializing in Human Resources
CHRP designation or currently working towards certification considered an asset
Minimum two years’ experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in a unionized environment
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Comprehensive and current knowledge of Human Resource management principles and practices, and ability to apply this knowledge
Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret a range of legislation, policies, and collective agreements
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders such as employees, unions, and external contacts
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Ability to work independently, establish appropriate priorities, and multi-task
Proficient in Microsoft Office

This is an 18-month contract administrative position, with the potential for permanent employment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
