Thunder Bay Counselling is currently looking to fill the full-time permanent position of Counsellor/
Psychotherapist. This position will be dedicated to serving clients through the Ontario Structured
Psychotherapy Program and will provide evidence-based, short term, client centered Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and related approaches to individuals with mild to moderate mental health
issues related to obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, panic, phobias, social anxiety, depression
and trauma.
About Ontario Structured Psychotherapy
Thunder Bay Counselling is a Service Delivery Site for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program offered through St. Joseph’s Care Group. The OSP supports adults (aged 18 or older) who have depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions. Through the OSP program, individuals can access provincially funded, short-term, evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) through a stepped care model.
Qualifications
The successful candidate requires at minimum:
• Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
• Masters level degree in a social science with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience or Bachelor level degree with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience providing counselling/psychotherapy
• Ability and willingness to participate in 18 months of intensive training to become a certified CBT therapist
• Ability and willingness to commit to a minimum of three (3) years of employment with TBC in this role
