We seek a talented, compassionate, and experienced freelance autobiographer to assist clients in telling their life stories through in-depth interviews. This project involves creating two short stories and a complete autobiography, capturing the client’s unique life experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting in-person interviews with the client to gather stories and insights.
• Organizing and compiling written materials for the autobiography and short stories.
• Writing a comprehensive life story, incorporating historical knowledge with minimal research needed.
• Creating compelling narratives for two short stories based on the client’s experiences.
• Demonstrating sensitivity and compassion when dealing with stories of hardship.
Qualifications:
• Strong background in history with the ability to conduct minimal research when needed.
• Experience writing military stories and understanding their context and impact.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage materials and structure the autobiography.
• Ability to work patiently and respectfully with the client, ensuring a positive and comfortable environment during interviews.
Contract Details:
• 3-month contract with a flexible interview schedule.
• Example schedules include:
○ 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday, for 3 weeks
○ Or 3 hours once a week for 15 weeks.
• A completed autobiography and two short stories are expected by the end of the 3 months.
We are looking for a candidate who is not only skilled in writing but also empathetic and patient, able to build a rapport with the client and bring their life story to vivid life.
