It’s easy to enjoy the outdoors when you visit Elliot Lake—you’re surrounded by many hiking and walking trails, many pristine lakes and beautiful wilderness.
The first time I ever visited this community was in the summer and I was blown away the stunning surroundings of lush green trees, beautiful scenery and the wildlife. I even saw two deer and one bear, all in the same evening!
Elliot Lake is a four-season destination with many great activities and things to do. This city really has something for everyone: fishing, hunting, hiking, paddling, touring routes and ATV trails, arts and culture, golfing and snowmobiling. No matter what you like to do, there are plenty of year-round services to make your trip memorable.
ELLIOT LAKE WELCOME CENTRE
If it's your first visit to Elliot Lake, you should make the Welcome Centre your first stop. It's located in the Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre. Visitors can purchase detailed sport fishing and recreation maps for a nominal fee.
THE BEST VIEW IN TOWN
This is a must-do when visiting the city. The Fire Tower Lookout can be enjoyed year-round. It provides a 360- degree view of the city and area, and the North Channel of Lake Huron.
There is also a Fire Ranger Heritage Centre with a restored cabin which would have housed the tower watchman and his family. The cabin is opening during the summer months for visitors.
