SooToday meteorologist Jerry Shields says snow will start early this afternoon and taper off late tonight after midnight.
The latest information continues to hint at 15-25 cm total accumulation of snowfall across the Sault region. Lower amounts in that range will be near the city and to the north, whereas the higher amounts will be east of the city toward St. Joseph Island and the North Channel.
Gusty east winds will accompany the snow, causing blowing and drifting snow that will reduce visibility this afternoon and into the evening.
Daytime highs will be near -3°C with windchills near -10°C.
