CRIME STOPPERS

Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and the District of Algoma is hosting a Butter Tart Festival on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Bellevue Park.
The event kick-starts with a 5km and 10km Run Against Crime at 10 a.m. Runners can sign up in advance by going to our website or on race day. After the run there will be a 1km scavenger hunt fun run for children 12 and under, followed by the butter tart bake-off at noon where you can be the judge!
Festival admission is by donation and activities will include local vendors, food trucks and concession stands. The Balloon Man will arrive at noon and there will be a bouncy house for the kids to enjoy.
You will also be able to dunk a cop in a dunk tank thanks to the generosity of the Echo Bay Township and the volunteers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. David’s Tea will also be out to support the cause by running a refreshment stand.
Schedule of Events:
- Runners line up: 9:50 a.m.
- Run Against Crime: 10 a.m.
- 1km scavenger hunt fun run: 11:30 a.m.
- Butter tart bake-off: noon
- Winner will be announced: 2 p.m.
All of the proceeds from the Butter Tart Festival and the Run Against Crime will stay local to assist in supporting the mandate of the Crime Stoppers Program.
