Sault Theatre Workshop is proud to present their fun and festive holiday show, Alice in Cuckoo Land, a unique spin on the classic fairy tale by Peter Nuttall.
The evil Queen of Hearts (Wendylynn Levoskin) is determined that Christmas will be banned from her realm, and Santa (Aaron Bird) ends up locked in the dungeons.
Old Mother Wobbly (RJ Renner), her daughter Alice (Aurora Boone) along with some friends from Wonderland are able to dissuade her.
This show is wacky and the focus is on getting children and youth involved. For most of the cast, it is their first play, and back stage support is also mostly youth.
Director Randi Houston Jones usually puts on more serious productions with mature themes, making this fun and interactive pantomime a first for her as well.
The show opened on Dec. 5. There is still a chance to see the engaging performance tonight at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sault Theatre Workshop, with tickets available at the door.
