Local singer/songwriter Catherine Taddo has certainly been garnering some Northern Ontario attention this past year. Her music can regularly be heard on CBC's Points North out of Sudbury and she has been found performing at prestigious festivals like the 3-day "Live From The Rock" Folk Festival (held just east of Thunder Bay).

This Thursday, February 24th, Taddo will be performing her music at a blues showcase/audition in Thunder Bay in hopes of being selected to appear at the fourth annual Thunder Bay Blues Festival. Although Taddo will be performing alongside some of the north's finest talent, she has the voice and songs to more than hold her own.

The showcase/audition puts northern blues artists in front of a panel of judges who will choose the line-up of the popular summer festival. Each performer gets to play two songs at a world-class facility, with a full technical crew and sound technicians, allowing them to focus exclusively on what they love: performing. The Thunder Bay Blues Festival, being held from July 8th through 10th, already has legends like Dr. John and Percy Sledge on the bill for this summer's festival.

Catherine Taddo is currently finishing recording her first full-length CD at Red Gecko Studios on St. Joseph's Island with producer Larry Borek (Chris Belsito, Startlefish, Mark Dunn, Granola People).
