On May 31, 2025, join us for a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show – a celebration of self-expression, individuality, and community!
Everyone is welcome. Come as you are, dress in costume if you’d like, and enjoy Rocky Horror as it was meant to be experienced – on the big screen, with live performers, and many opportunities for audience participation.
Local directors Lucas Beaver and Christina Foster are bringing this cult classic back to the historic The Machine Shop for a one-night-only fundraiser hosted by Lauren Kinney and Andrew Stuetz in support of Welcome Friend Association’s Rainbow Camp. Joining them on stage will be Dr. Eric Haapala (Frank-N-Further), Christina Speers (Janet), Chris Schneider (Brad), Mike Poluk (Riff Raff), Jamie-Lynn Garside (Magenta), Melissa Johnson (Columbia), Lucas Beaver (Dr. Everett V. Scott), Leo Moore (Rocky Horror), Alex Campana (Eddie), Jay Faught (The Criminologist), Grace King (Trixie, The Usherette), Jarrett Mills (Ralph Hapshatt), Monique Lucenay (Betty Munroe) and featuring Corrine Wilkinson, Emme Speers, Jared Vecchio, Hanna Ellis, Trevor Beaudoin, Breanna Hamilton, Michelle Haapala and Lucia Pet as Transylvanians. The Production staff includes Valerie Pluss, Trudy DeGraw, Betty Currie, Tim Childs, Amie Fisher, Hanna Ellis and Penny Gribbon.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It also marks the third time the show will be screened in Sault Ste. Marie as a fundraiser for Rainbow Camp.
In 1991, when a group of high school students discovered a newfound sense of belonging after screening the movie in their parents’ wood-panelled rec room. Eric Haapala and Christina Foster decided to reunite a group of friends and the first Rocky Horror fundraiser for Rainbow Camp was born.
“Rocky Horror challenges ideas of gender and societal norms and encourages people to be themselves. We’re thrilled to continue to celebrate this important message of belonging.”
All proceeds to benefit Rainbow Camp, providing LGBTQ2+ and allied youth with a supportive community.
“IT’S LOUD. IT’S PROUD. IT’S TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS.”
