SAULT STE MARIE AND DISTRICT LABOUR COUNCIL
*************************
Recognizing 58 years as “The voice of organized labour” the Sault Ste. Marie and District Labour Council and affiliates will mark Labour Day by inviting the public and calling all Labour Union members to a free workers appreciation family and friends event at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017.
This year’s theme is Universal Pharmacare and Fight for $15 and fairness.
The Parade of Flags will kick off the day’s events at 11:30 a.m. beginning from the pavilion parking lot, east on Foster Drive continuing on Russ Ramsay Way, north on Brock, west on Queen, south on Elgin and back to the pavilion. Rally participants are invited to gather at 11:15 a.m.
Join us at noon under the tent for fun family activities with free food and refreshments by the M&M’s Barbeque Crew. Bring the family to get their faces painted by EZ Face Painting, play some games, try the fish pond, or race some minnows. Enjoy some cotton candy, popcorn or a snow cone. Come enjoy the music of some local talent.
The Motorcycle Show and Shine event will once again be hosted by the local iron workers. Come out to see the bikes and vote for your favourite.
We need volunteers to assist with events. If you are or know high school students who need community volunteer hours please, contact Michele (705) 542-4026.
