Children have fun as Culture Days kicks off (12 photos)

Festival continues until October 16

Children enjoyed games at Clergue Park opposite the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library on Friday as Culture Days launched.

A range of activities were being held by the library and partners such as Entomica, the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre and Northern Ontario Latin-Hispanic Association at Clergue Park with other events taking place at the Art Gallery of Algoma, the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site and Sault Ste. Marie Museum.

The 2022 province-wide Culture Days festival continues until October 16 with over 1,000 community events in every region of the province.

Celebrating art, culture and heritage across Ontario, Sault Ste. Marie was chosen to be one of 10 Culture Days hubs in the province.

A schedule of free Culture Days events to be held in the Sault can be found on the event’s website.

Among those events is Fall Rendezvous at the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There will be heritage interpreters on hand in historic clothing depicting the early 19th Century.
