The last four years of Ottawa musician Kalle Mattson’s life have been a period of exponential expansion.  

Staking a name for himself with two full-length albums and an EP since he started writing material in 2009, he has also impressed audiences with two revolutionary music videos that went viral, racking up more than a million views.  

In preparation for a full-length album in early 2014, Mattson is releasing a teaser 7” of tracks from the upcoming album.  

Recorded at Toronto’s Lincoln County Social Club and produced by Gavin Gardiner (The Wooden Sky), Mattson’s upcoming album features performances by Jeremy Fisher, Cuff The Duke, and The Wooden Sky.  

The two tracks, An American Dream and Darkness will be released October 1 on Parliament of Trees.

In support of his second album, Anchors, Mattson made stops at CMW, NXNE, and Pop Montreal touring with Sunparlour Players, Cuff The Duke, and Jeremy Fisher.  

Returning to the road in September, Mattson and his band will cross Canada from Vancouver to Montreal, with the brand new 7” in tow.  

2011’s Anchors received a pair of Northern Ontario Music Awards for Album of the Year (Group) and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year.
