HURON-SUPERIOR CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) invites the public to a fundraising gala in support of the Board’s “As ONE” campaign.

The As ONE Gala will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

This gala event will take place at the new St. Mary’s College located on Second Line East, providing the public an opportunity to view the new state-of-the-art building.

The event will feature door prizes, a silent auction, live music, cocktails and dinner.

Students from the Public Relations and Event Management (PEM) program at Sault College will be hosting the event as a part of the hands-on curriculum the program offers.

This collaboration between the PEM program and the HSCDSB promises to be the highlight of the social calendar this year in Sault Ste. Marie.

The As ONE campaign is raising funds to outfit a 450-seat performing arts theatre at St. Mary’s College.

This facility will provide opportunities to the students of the school, and can also be utilized by community theatre groups and other organizations.

More information about the As ONE campaign can be found at www.asonesmc.com

The PEM program at Sault College is unique in Ontario, combining skills and practical experience in both public relations and event management activities.

Students in this program learn successful public relations strategies and receive training in media relations, presentation skills, issues management and effective writing instruction.
