Former Big Sugar front man Gordie Johnson has a new(ish) Austin, Texas-based country metal band.

And he's bringing it to the Sault.

For real this time.

Grady was scheduled to perform in Sault Ste. Marie at the Canadian Night Club during its October 2007 Canadian tour.

But when drummer Billy "Thunderball" Maddox left the band for medical reasons, the tour was cancelled.

"To find a drummer that can dance on the double kick pedal and sweat blood for us 90 minutes a night, night after night like Billy did is going to be a tall order," Johnson stated in a September 2007 press release.

That tall order has been filled by the petite yet mighty Nina Singh.

With a female on the skins for the first time ever, Johnson will take Grady on the road this April to make up the cancelled 2007 Canadian dates.

Grady's 2007 release Cup of Cold Poison has garnered rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Former Dead Kennedys front man Jello Biafra described Grady's sound as "the missing link between Junior Brown and Black Flag."

Curious about what that might sound like?

Grady will perform in Sault Ste. Marie at the Canadian Night Club on Friday, April 25 with special guests Murder City Sparrows and Wishbone.

Tickets, available at the Knights Inn (410 Pim Street), are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Doors open at 9 p.m. and you must be 19 or older to enter.
