Kalle Mattson's video for Thick as Thieves is added to the front page at Vimeo and quickly goes viral! Ottawa folk rock quintet Kalle Mattson had their video for
Thick as Thieves added to the front page at
www.vimeo.com yesterday afternoon, and has since been viewed 10,000 times.
Last week the video was added to one of the world's largest cartoon sites at
www.cartoonbrew.com which lead to Vimeo picking up the video as a "Video We Like" on their front page.
The video, which cost the band $250 in materials to make, was created by Kevin Perry.
In it, the history of the world is depicted in three minutes and 30 seconds using stop motion animation.
All of the characters in the video are made of cut pieces of paper, and the background is made of fabric that the band got from Salvation Army.
The concept for the video was settled upon in September of 2010, and Kevin and his team worked on it for the next six months, finally debuting the video in May of 2011.
The band is presently on tour with Parliament of Trees label mates The Details in support of their new album
Anchors.
Anchors was mixed by Howie Beck (Feist, Jason Collett, Hayden, Josh Rouse, etc) and mastered in Los Angeles at the legendary Bernie Grudman Studios (Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, U2, The Band, Van Morrison, etc).
