Looking for Angelina special edition DVD available for Christmas!

TORONTO – November 22, 2006 - Platinum Image Film is proud to announce that Looking for Angelina, directed by Sergio Navarretta and filmed entirely in Sault Ste. Marie, will be available for purchase for the Christmas season.

This "special edition" DVD is available through the Platinum Image offices at a discounted rate with free shipping and handling only to residents of Sault Ste. Marie, and includes a behind-the-scenes documentary as a tribute to all those who worked on the film!

In the past year Looking for Angelina has won 3 awards, and has been in official selection at several film festivals around the globe, including the Montreal World Film Festival, the International Film Festival of India and Cimameriche Film Festival in Genova, Italy.

The film has also enjoyed a successful theatrical release in numerous Canadian cities.

Looking for Angelina has been utilized by a number of social organizations, police forces, universities, associations and unions to facilitate discussions around important social issues.

Continuing this journey, a portion of all proceeds from DVD sales will go back into the community to help stop domestic violence.

Looking for Angelina is based on the true story of Angelina Napolitano (Lina Giornofelice), a 28-year-old Italian immigrant and mother of four, who killed her abusive husband Pietro (Alvaro D'Antonio) in Sault Ste. Marie's "Little Italy".

Shot in 14 days entirely on location in Sault Ste. Marie, and with the help of hundreds of local talent, this period piece film is in half English and half Italian (authentic Neapolitan dialect) with English subtitles and marks the first time the story is being told on screen.

Platinum Image Film produces entertaining and socially conscious projects for wide audiences.

Looking for Angelina was made possible with a number of in-kind sponsorships and funding from the OMNI/Rogers Media Independent Producers Initiative.
