Two outstanding ensembles from Montreal are joining forces for what promises to be a feast for the ears at The Loft.
On tour from Montreal, Ensemble Caprice will present Vivaldi’s Gloria with choir and chamber orchestra in two performances on March 26.
The sound of a chamber orchestra and choir is expected to be spectacular in The Loft, where patrons can sit back in their armchairs and be surrounded by sound.
Ensemble Caprice is directed by two-time Juno winner Matthias Maute.
The show is part of a three year, cross-Canada project that will produce 12 albums featuring choral singing from the 1500s to today on the ATMA label.
The ensemble is presented by Algoma Conservatory Concerts - Classical Series.
There are two performances March 26, at 6 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $40, or $25 for those 30 and under (includes all fees).
There's also a cash bar.
For tickets, go to www.algomaconservatory.com under Events or phone 705-971-4197.
The Loft is at the Algoma Conservatory, 75 Huron St.
