About Grocer4Good:
At G4G, we believe that everyone has something to contribute. We created Grocer 4 Good (G4G) to respond to a need in our community - young adults with Autism have few opportunities to access employment, and mainstream pipelines to employment are full of barriers many cannot overcome without support. Our charity offers meaningful employment to staff while also providing affordable and healthy groceries in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.
Some facts:
• We employ three full-time and eight part-time staff, over 70 per cent identifying with barriers. We have placed over eight co-op education students from both secondary and post-secondary, and hired and supported to date 10 summer students, and have had three find other full-time employment
• We are volunteer driven and have logged a minimum of 30 volunteer hours per week since inception
• We provide lower cost fresh food in a designated food desert neighbourhood and sell on average 220 individual pieces of produce per week
